On Sunday 25th March, I was privileged with the opportunity to go to the Raj and fundraise for Culcheth 2 Soweto. My Mum and I were determined to win one of the many prizes, so we ended up buying 50 raffle tickets (don’t tell my Dad!). We never won anything!!! However, one of my good friends only bought 5 tickets and won the main hamper! I wasn’t very happy about that.
Anyway, as soon as we walked in we were greeted with smiling faces, live music and multi-coloured drinks! Before this event, I had never actually eaten Indian food before so I didn’t really know how to react. I was a bit worried about what I would think of it, but it turned out to be really nice, nicer than I had been expecting!
During the afternoon I purchased two wristbands, one for me and one for my brother. At the end of a very nice afternoon, we all had a friendly competition. People bought little plastic ducks and had to see who could throw their duck the closest to the middle of the parachute, it was great fun.
Thanks again Miss Longden, Mr Cushion and Miss Lakin for making such an unforgettable event.
