On Friday 13th July, period 2, we all got together, veterans, apprentices and Matseliso students and staff, in the conference room.
To be honest, it was not what I was expected. The whole conversation got very deep as we spoke about depression, mental health and how this project has made us realise how hard we have to work and how we need more of an open mind.
We also spoke about how reliant we are on technology. It really opened my eyes to see that the students from Matseliso don’t have social media, mostly due to the things being said about themselves.
We also covered the topic of England getting knocked out of the World Cup in the semi final, which lead on to the Matseliso students talking about when South Africa hosted the World Cup in 2010. This topic then lead on to when Nelson Mandela died, and how it brought the whole country together during a lot of political problems and disagreements.
